Selkirk Striders Volkssport Club

[Image: View of Schweitzer Mountain from Sandpoint City Beach by David Harper (2002)] Welcome to North Idaho, home of the Selkirk Striders Volkssport Club (AVA-729). Named for the Selkirk Mountain Range which runs from Sandpoint to the Canadian border, the club was formed in 1991 and is one of only three volkssport clubs in Idaho. The primary objective of the club is to promote wellness, recreation and fellowship through non-competitive volkssport events. As a member of the American Volkssport Association (AVA) and the Internationaler Volkssportverband (IVV), the club is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of volkssporting. This is a non-profit organization with all proceeds being invested in volkssport events.

A volkswalk is an organized, non-competitive walk along a pre-marked trail and sanctioned by the AVA. Walkers travel at their own pace, making them an ideal recreational outing for the whole family. These events are an excellent way to begin a lifelong walking program, whether it is for your own walking pleasure or receiving credit at sanctioned events.
